We Value Family & Community

Silver Lining Nation is focused on restoring the lives & families of addicts & alcoholics through the sharing of our stories in an effort to rebuild these relationships.

SLN Sobriety is a 501 (c)(3) organization providing a platform for alcoholics, addicts & family members to share their stories through our podcast & social media channels. Our stories tell what it was like, what happened & what it's like now. Guests include individuals recovering through a 12-step program, as well as those who have chosen alternative recovery methods to get & stay sober. We gratefully include the family & friends of alcoholics & addicts in an effort to expose valuable information regarding the damage & restoration as a result of this family disease.

Hey y’all! I’m Lorene, SLN Sobriety Co-Founder & an alcoholic. I was given the gift of sobriety on December 15, 2009. After being arrested for my 3rd DWI, I was frustrated & angry. It was time I learned to drink like a lady & without consequence because the fact was—there was no way I was, or could see myself as, an alcoholic. I begrudgingly sat through meeting after meeting looking for the differences so I could prove I wasn’t like the rest of y’all. As you can see by my sobriety date, that didn’t work out for me. It turns out that hearing the stories shared within the rooms became my inspiration & opened my eyes to the truth—I AM AN ALCOHOLIC.

Today I own the truth that I so desperately wanted to be a lie. This truth led me to a solution & a life I could have never envisioned for myself. As a result, I have chosen to share this gift by offering others a platform to share their experience, strength & hope. I am actively involved in a 12 step group, sponsorship & sharing my story with other groups, treatment centers & institutions.

My recovery is fueled by this quote … “If you want to keep it, you have to give it away.”
